Call for Abstracts: Uganda Living Law Journal Volume 12 No. 2
Uganda Law Reform Commission (ULRC) invites the submission of abstracts for publication in Volume 12 No. 2 of the Uganda Living Law Journal.
The theme for this edition is: Employment and Economic Transformation in Uganda: Legal, Policy, and Governance Perspectives
Authors are invited to submit abstracts on, but not limited to, the following sub-themes:
- Labour law, decent work and the future of employment.
- Regulation of the gig economy and digital labour platforms.
- Entrepreneurship, innovation and enabling legal and policy frameworks.
- Artificial intelligence, automation and the transformation of employment.
- Youth participation in economic governance and public decision-making.
- Social justice, inclusion and economic empowerment.
- Skills development, employability and the transition from education to work.
- Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a pathway to employment, enterprise and productivity.
- Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) and alignment of education with labour market needs.
- Digital transformation, digital skills and emerging forms of work.
- Young women and young mothers: Barriers to decent work, enterprise and economic participation.
Submission Guidelines
Abstracts must:
- Be no more than 250 words.
- Include the author's name(s).
- State the author's academic/professional affiliation.
- Provide an email address and telephone number.
- Include the author's qualifications.
- State the title of the proposed paper.
Submission Deadline
Submit abstracts by 18 September 2026 to swabrah.isanga@ulrc.go.ug, copying philip.odoki@ulrc.go.ug.
Successful applicants will be notified by 12 October 2026. Selected authors will be invited to submit full papers for publication in a special edition of the Uganda Living Law Journal.
