Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights presents its compliments to ULRC

The new Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Uganda’s representative, Dr. Uchenna Emelonye recently paid a courtesy visit to Uganda Law Reform Commission.

He appreciated the work done by the commission in keeping Laws of Uganda up to date and pledged OHCHR’s support towards the commission.


ULRC has received Law books from ILBF

Uganda Law Reform Commission received several law books to facilitate its legal research from the International Law Book Facility (ULBF), a legal charity which distributes law books to public access, justice and educational organisations throughout the world. To date ILBF has worked in seventeen different countries, ranging from Uganda, Rwanda to Trinidad and Tobago,


ULRC Workplan for FY2013/14 Out

The Commission is planning to implement a number of activities during the year 2013. The plan is to finalise the current ongoing activities that have not been finalised and commence new projects that will be supported under the 2013/14 Government funding cycle. JLOS House Complex Construction

KAMPALA - The Justice, Law and Order Sector on September 19, 2013 officially received the land title for the proposed JLOS House Complex from the Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura in a colorful ceremony held at the Uganda Police Headquarters in Naguru, Kampala. In attendance was the top leadership of the sector that included the Hon. Chief Justice (represented by Justice Yorokamu Bamwiine, the Principal Judge), Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Gen.


JLOS House Expression of Interest- Released

The Government of Uganda wishes to use Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) as a mechanism for procuring and financing the construction of JLOS office accommodation facilities (JLOS House Project) for JLOS institutions.
