ULRC pays a courtesy visit to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions

ULRC staff led by the Chairperson Dr. Pamela Tibihikirra-Kalyegira paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions on 4th September, 2020. The visit was intended to discuss synergies on how to further reform of laws relating to administration of justice in Uganda

Strategic engagement meeting with Uganda Registration Services Bureau(URSB)

Staff from Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) led by the Registrar General Mr. Bemanya Twebaze held a strategic engagement meeting with Uganda Law Reform Commission (ULRC) led by the Chairperson Dr.Pamela Tibihikirra-Kalyegira aimed at improving the working relationship  between the two government institutions. ULRC also donated a consignment of legal materials to URSB.

Uganda Law Reform Commission (ULRC) staff led by the Chairperson Dr.Pamela Tibihikirra-Kalyegira have this morning paid a courtesy call to the  Centre for Arbitration and Dispute Resolution (CADER) aimed at discussing the progress of the project on the Review of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act.

Transcribing the 1995 Constitution into Braille

Transcribing the 1995 Constitution into Braille

Uganda Law Reform Commission today 30th September 2020 launched a project to transcribe the 1995 Constitution into Braille. It is hoped that the transcription of the Constitution into Braille will enhance access to law for the visually impaired persons and empower them. In attendance was Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, Uganda National Association of the Blind (UNABU), Uganda Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda (NUDIPU) and the Center for Visually Impaired Children Uganda (CEVIC).
