The commission held a validation workshop on 15th September, 2017 in the Commission Boardroom to build consensus on the proposed Explosives Bill. In the year, 2015/16, the Commission undertook a review of the Explosives Act, Cap 298. The review was intended to update the Acts as to address the current circumstances. The explosives Act provides a framework that regulates the manufacture, storage, transportation, exportation, importation, handling and usage of explosives.
Generally, this Act restricts and prohibits the use of unauthorized explosives. The Act provides a license and permit regime as a form of administration. The workshop was organized to discuss the report on the proposed bill.
